Why not bet 99 on this flop?

Good question.

BvB I just have to guess a lot since it's not really a spot I can study effectively with my current set up.

I don't know if this would be a pure bet or if it mixes. I figured at the time it was a mix, and when a hand mixes I sometimes err on the side of caution and play more defensively OOP. I also see people over stab a lot, so that could be another reason.

it's obv a flop that needs checking a lot, so w/e. turn, however, i think we want to be betting very often with this hand.

think you played this very well.

you check very often on this board and if you decide to bet this hand go for any size you want. I would check pure though.

On the turn we can bet big or check maybe betting more but checking is fine.
Basically wanting protection from over cards like JT.

AP river check call is fine.

river is closer to a raise than a fold

So raise > call > fold, or call > raise > fold?

Checking flop 100%

We polarize on this turn because it is better for villain's range than ours, and 99 is a better hand with which to OB than JJ-KK, for example, because villain is calling 98o pre but folding J8o, Q8o and K8o more often.

idk id probably raise given his stats but i think calling is fine / standard. i also think he probably has close to 80% of hands here pre which i think would make the sim more likely to bet the flop. i think your line is fine though and its very possible raise river is massive punt in practice

I don't think any street is played poorly. I don't really know what we would want to do if we bet the turn, and got reraised(let's say 3x). I feel like I'd call since we have a lot of outs and from their stats we are most likely ahead, but I think it's giving us a tough spot so I like the check call line.

never folding river

BB probably wants to bet a lot of 8x OTF for protection, so turn x/c or bet are both reasonable.

Can maybe small raise river to go for sicko mode thin value, I bet a lot of the pop will "put you on ace king" and station off with 6x or 77
