Barrel to balance or control?

Villain plays 19/14 over 37 hands. The main problem is: i feel like checking here is better to keep worse in, pot control and let him open his bluff range. BUT: normally if i would have missed this turn i would barrel it since the Q showed up. So i thought, on a balance i should bet this as well if i do hit a Q.
Things that make me unsure:
- Is it correct to override pot control to balance this since i also barrel a missed Q here?
- If so, how many times should i bet this Q when i hit to balance? Always? 50%? Some info on balancing is appreciated as well.
