Had a feeling that he had a set, but he could have been c/r with any number of draws. Once the 2 pair came, I wasn't able to lay it down. Villain is 50/42 over 12 hands.

Even if I have AA here or even AK, I would play the same because once I bet the flop for value, I would call villain's c/r and continue to call on this turn and river. If villain has 88, 99, or JT of spades then I will just have to pay him off.

Since you improved to top 2 on turn, I like how it's played.

raise it big on the turn ; because if a J or a 10 comes on the river you kinda got to fold to a strong river bet
