How would you have played this? Re-raise preflop? Not get involved? Fold the C-bet...

Any stats on villain? Calling from the SB is bad, so either fold or raise (villain dependent, especially UTG+1). I'd fold flop as played.

I would also fold it pre. If you decide to play it, you can probably peel 1 street and fold the turn. I see it quite alot really, that once players make mid pair with their gut shot they keep on calling. While this may seem oke, it's gonna end up costing you alot in the end.

Only call pre-flop if UTG+1 and CO are really loose. Look at your stats as to how well you are doing when you cold call a raise from an early position raiser when you are a blind with AJ, and you will probably find poor results. I would fold AQ in this situation against a typical player, and likely AQs. In fact, I would much rather have 79s than AJ to make this call. A re-raise would have been a better option than a call in my opinion, but still a poor play.

Had I gotten a wild hair and called like you did, I would have needed the flop to really hit me, so I would have folded the flop, turn and river.
