you massively under-represent your hand and play solely on the intention of check/calling. you rely on the aggression of the BTN, you want him to bet so that you can call. if he doesnt bet, no money goes in and you get no value from AA...
you do that on the flop. you plan to check call the turn, which failed, then you lead the river and fold.
as played, you need to reconsider what your plan is. if you really want to under-represent like that you have to CALL him down like that. and for the record this line is super-bad. as said above 4bet preflop and lead the flop, get the money in.
this play is especially bad because you are out of position and OOP leads to a situation like THIS HAND.
also btn´s range is weak, given 12% 3bet, he most likely has JT QJ KJ JJ TT etc... very few hands beat you, i only see QQ and flushes. but since you played this hand so weak any thinking opponent will perceive your hand as weak, and shoves AQ for value (river)
I don't like flatting here. You're OOP post flop. Also, he makes a really small 3-bet.
I think it can be ok to do in certain situations (i.e., if you know an aggressive player is 3-betting you wide from the blinds and is going to fold a lot of your 4-bets.)
As played, I would check raise the flop.
Call river. His line looks pretty bluffy and may be doing this with worse for value. (KK, AQ, KQ)
As you are UTG BTN is likely to have a strong hand... you are also going to be out of position post flop. Because of this there is very little merit in slowplaying, 4bet your aces pre-flop for maximum fun and profit!
Once you've played it as you have I would c/r the flop. You are crushing almost all of the time and you want to build a big pot against his JJ/QQ/KK... if he has AK or a random bluff he'll rarely keep on bluffing so now is the time to checkraise.
I would call river because you are getting great odds but I would expect to see QQ here most of the time. I don't agree with some of the people above suggesting KK/AQ etc. I think they would usually bet the turn if they felt strongly enough about their hands to shove on river.
I called preflop , because most of the time i make him fold by 4betting. He shoves KK , calls with QQ and folds everything else . I don't want to get folds with AA.
But yeah , i probably should have raised flop. He was aggro postflop , so i checked thinking that he is going to keep betting.
