Well if he raises 88 on AKx flop, then calling must be the better option. You reraising gives him very little room to continue.

Just think about his range, he has it or he doesn't. Raising is terrible against 100% of his range unless we think it will make him spazz. Folding is good vs Tx but this is a very small part of his range, it's terrible against the rest of his range. What does that leave?

If he has air or a weak hand, then you should check all turns given your hand has zero scare cards on the turn and it leaves him a choice
