Maybe I should have folded this pre, but I didn't. I called his 3bet cause it was basically min-raised.

His stats were 21/21/57 over 24 hands FWIW and this is his 1st 3bet

PokerStars - $0.02 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

UTG: $5.94
Hero (MP): $2.87
CO: $2.27
BTN: $1.82
SB: $1.42
BB: $2.47

SB posts SB $0.01, BB posts BB $0.02

Pre Flop: ($0.03) Hero has 9 8

fold, Hero raises to $0.06, fold, BTN raises to $0.14, fold, fold, Hero calls $0.08

Flop: ($0.31, 2 players) T J 7
Hero checks, BTN bets $0.22, Hero ??

60-70 is a good raise.

You shouldnt slow play this, because miniraise in nl2 usually is a monster hand. He probably has JJ+, AK, something like that.

Since he wont fold those hands, thats an easy raise.

Next time fold that hand pre from MP2 unless u know your opponents

3.5-4x is a decent raise size in this spot. also, folding prf is definitely best here for a couple of reasons: one, we're out of position, and two, our SPR is awful with this given hand against his range here.

Buy in for the full amount always. With the stacks this shallow it's an easy fold. I'm not 3B this shallow unless I'm prepared to shove. And against this villain, 98s isn't the hand you want to do this with. High cards and pairs.

Raising 3.5x at a minimum here OTF, or even just shove. He's probably not folding anyway.

Well he will be folding AK but in any case bad board to slowplay. Too much scare cards for either one to come up. KK would get affraid of A, heart, 8, 9, J, same for QQ, AA gets scared of all above but A etc etc etc. You should be giving some thought if 9 or heart comes up or if board pairs(he might have JJ afterall).

Ummm...He has MORE than 100bb. He did not 3bet but call 3bet(which when villain has less than 100bb and you are OOP isn't that good eventhough price is good).
