Ok so this hand happened a few days ago and has been bugging me. Villain is a tag reg, pretty aggro but not overly so. He was like 24/19/4 over about 2k hands. We have no major history. Thoughts on turn check and whether I can call the river or not. He had just lost a pot vs the fish the hand before so thats why he wasn't full stacked.

Your hand looks like nothing. It's a pretty decent spot for him to bluff if he missed. Obviously he can show up with plenty of hands that beat you, but I think you are good a little more often than enough to profit.

How light does he value bet? Thats the key here, if he's the type to extract a bluff with two pair here its a call, if not its a fold.

1) what made hand calls preflop + the flop that he turns into a bluff here? we have the Td so only hand i can think of is 8d8 6d6 ... not that much combos (and those hands have some showdown value) + he could easily play better hands like this (KQ QJ that thinks ur barreling turna alot, ...)

i think it's a fold

2) checking flop has merits imho, i can't see him checkcalling worse a lot on this board, and the worse hands he does checkcall with we have crushed so a freecard doesn't matter, we aren't getting 3 streets of value anyway, etc

I hadn't seen him vb that light on the river in any of our sessions, in general he didn't seem that aggro on the river, but he wasn't super-passive or anything either.

I didn't bet the turn cos I have a weak made hand and a med strength draw. I would hate to get cr'd here and I don't think there's much value in betting

i think he smells weakness and feels he can take pot from you.if he has hand like KQ OR QJ why not to bet the flop with such board? it looks like he is on flushdraw.Jc on the turn is neutral card.you could bet the turn to define your hand,if he calls or raise you are probably beaten.what could he put you on on the river?if you had top pair good kicker you could bet the turn,your turn check looks like you want to see another card and not sure you have the best hand.

Oops forgot to give result. I'm a station and timed down and called. Really think its a fold though as there just aren't enough hands he can have that he can bluff with or vb lighter with imo

i like your line. you can have atc. most villains (and especially 24/19/4) are firing here probably 70% and a few of his semidecent made hands check to you.

i like the turn check because you dont want to get c/red. you have a hand with a lot of equity that can practically call any river card (besides As Ac Ah).

I don't think he plays a c/c-c/r line on a 3suited flop too often. If he does, it's a pretty easy fold. I also doubt he leads a blank river all that often. When he does, it probably hit him. So I would fold as well.

I would be much happier to call if the board came different and I somehow could beat hands like QJ. There is so much crap out there that beats QT and he probably isnt valuebetting any J.
Guess he could be betting AT but thats pretty much it. Altho the board has a lot going on it can't look like a good spot to bluff with a pair or missed diamond from the villains viewpoint. And if he is competent he can valuebet KQ+ easily on the river.
