I know a lot would probably say fold pre but i'm a little rusty especially post flop and what better way to improve than play hands post flop? I love those suited connectors/gappers lol

Anyway I decide to donk bet 1/3 on the flop which is something I hardly ever do. Thought it would look weak and would get called down light if I kept betting. If i'm going to take this line should my sizing be a bit bigger? Maybe overbet the turn or river? I struggle knowing when and when not to overbet sometimes, one of my flaws i'm working on

Fold pre. Learn how to play better postflop with hands that aren’t -EV calls

I don’t like the flop without reads, but if you are going to take that line you should overbet turn so you can shove river

Ah yes I thought I should've overbet at some point in the hand. Thanks

I'm confident in my post flop play, it's just that i'm a little rusty because i've been out of the game for a while. And i've always thought the best way to get over it is by playing post flop often and get my confidence back soon hopefully Some things have changed since i've been gone so just getting into the groove again!

Fold pre this is dreadful.

Flop bet is far too small but I like betting as people get very wary playing in mutliway pots and tend to get very passive without anything yet are still happy to call all sorts. Rest is fine you want villain calling loads of pair type hands if you're making huge bets you're only ever going to get called by AQ or better so you're killing off loads of EV.

When we get reads on weak villains who call too wide I'm much happier setting up GII by the river. Although if you size the flop better you're going to find it much easier to GII anyway.

Even if you have a huge post flop edge this hand is absolute garbage and you'll just lose loads due to rake. Your post flop game isn't that good if you're worrying about how you play a great run out for your hand.

Thanks So what should my defending BB range be if 74s isn't good? I mean it's a suited 2 gapper it has potential and we're getting 3.5/1 on a call? I like those sorts of hands, as long as I know how to fold when I know i'm beat obviously.

It isn't about having equity it's about being able to realise that equity and 74s is very hard to do that with, flop top pair we likely don't have the best hand, flop two pair we aren't that far ahead, 77x boards we can misplay and get into trouble against better 7s, gutshots probably lead to overcalling, flushes are great but we make the worst flushes going and are vunerable to rivers that make it 4 to a flush.

I'd call pretty wide in this spot but see no reason for 74s.

But couldn't the same be said with any suited connector? Should I be folded hands like 34s-89s as well? My VPIP in the BB is 36, so it's pretty high I do have a tendency to defend light, what's a decent VPIP for the BB?
