After almost 12 hours of play, I'm chip leader with 7 players to go on ACR. $16 buy in 1st place pays 4.2K.

The whole table is short pretty much. Even tho I'm chip leader, I only have 30 bb. 2nd in chips has about 24 bb. The other 5 players have no more than 13 bb. Some have even 7bb.

UTG (2nd in chips) raises to 2.5bb. It folds to me in the SB. In this spot, I feel like he's raising semi-light since he's shown to be a relatively aggressive player that likes to steal blinds. But I know he isn't completely airballing since he's UTG and a smart player that probably considers ICM implications. Also, he can easily ladder up to 5th or better and make way more $$ by just playing super tight.

But this is also why I decide to 3bet him from the SB with K2o. I have him covered (even though we're very close in stack size). With ICM considerations, I feel that my 3bet looks super strong AK+ 1010+.

Anyway, I 3bet, he calls, and the flop comes 266 with two hearts.

What should I do here on the flop? Was my 3bet PF with K2o from the SB just stupid?

Hello
I prefer fold K2o preflop
AP, to my mind, you can bet 1/3 to get paid by draws and A high , K high and protect your hand, you are happy if he folds a pair
Or just check and give up on later streets
But I don"t know MTT I might be wrong

thanks for responding.

Yeah I was getting too cute with my 3bet with K2o.

Your flop bet suggestion is accurate. Which isn't what I did. I went all in (2x the pot) and got snap called by a flush draw with two overs. Villain hit on the river and I lost 80 percent of my stack and ended up busting in 7th a few hands later.

Really stupid play that cost me a lotta money. Could've easily laddered up. Sometimes I just go all in without thinking lol... thought he might have a small pocket pair or ace high that he would fold to a huge overbet considering ICM implications. But a much smaller bet may have accomplished the same thing.

No problem
Yes he is supposed folding overcards (maybe very low pp too) but you beat overcards with your hand, why do you want him to fold it?
Plus, Utg rarely calls your 3 bet with low PP

Yes. He's raising "semi-light", fine. But you have King Two offsuit. Pick hands that play well postflop.

Thanks but what should I do on the flop here now that I’ve gotten myself into this situation with a pair of deuces OOP?

Why do you need advice for a spot you should never ever find yourself in again?

Because now that I’ve gone to a flop and hit a deuce, it’s a tricky spot. Villain and I were 2nd and 1st in chips with about 20-25bb remaining and 10bb in the pot.
