Like my 2nd time going to the casino ever, so still unfamiliar with game dynamics ect. Villain here seems like a reg and a decent player (as far as decent players go for a 3/6 live reg). He was familiar and friendly with the dealers/other players. Only noteworthy hand I remember him going to showdown with is he barreled some guy off KK on a AT7T board with Q8o or something. I'm prob unknown to these players, I guess he seems me as a tag. Hands I've shown down are getting it all in 100 deep with a fish with AQ on a QQ4 twotone flop and 3betting a bad tag with JJ ip ~110 deep. I look very young and most the players at the table looked 30+, so dunno if they assume I'm some internet poker whiz kid or whatever.

3/6NL live fullring, 9 handed.

Anyways Villain has ~$1200, I cover.

I pick up JJ in ep and open to $30
Villain in mp calls, random in lp calls, random in BB call.

Flop ($120): 478

BB bets $80, I call, Villain calls

Note: BB was ~80-100bb deep

Turn ($360): J

BB checks, I bet $225, Villain raises to $450, BB folds, Hero calls $225

Note: I suck at math and calculated the pot to be ~300 when I decided on my $225 turn bet.

River ($1260): 2

I check, Villain pushes all-in for ~$650

================================================

Anyone pushes turn? Does he play a lower set like that? Don't think hes ever bluffing here, his line really looks like T9.

Thoughts on all streets appreciated.

Minraise on the turn is strange if he has 9 10, it's not like he needs to protect his hand or anything....I flat there all day in position with the nuts...Then again it is live...Since we have to get it in at some point, the turn seems like the spot. Really difficult to fold, although I'm sure he has a hand and it's a very strange line to take with a lesser set, so it's hard to see what we're beating. Ugh tough spot, I call though.

call and expect to see 9T a lot but he's valuetowning himself with smaller sets enough to call. Your hand looks a lot like an overpair.

I didnt think of that, I guess this is a call then right, especially considering the 3-1 pot odds I'm getting. Just this is extremely weird way to play a set, and villain seems like one of the better players at the table.

Seems to be played fine. As mentioned, villain will be value owning himself sometimes. I'd just call and not be excited about it.
