UTG ($16.69)
MP ($22.15)
Hero (CO) ($6.36)

Preflop: Hero is CO with A, 9
UTG raises to $0.15, 1 fold, Hero calls $0.15, 2 folds, BB calls $0.10

Flop: ($0.47) 2, 10, 7 (3 players)
BB checks, UTG bets $0.38, Hero calls $0.38, BB raises to $1.44, 1 fold, Hero ??

Is this call +ev? I dont think i can shove here as villain might easily have a set raising to protect. I think open raiser has an over and fold it...sadly. I am to act...i call this and hope to hit a spade? Will villain pay me then? Can he think and know im unlikely to have an over here since my range is wider? Isnt my hand kind of transparent? What do you think?

Call or fold?

Calling is best. We only need ~28% to breakeven on a call, and have 36% equity against a very conservative range (TT,77,22,KsQs,QsJs,9s8s).

Most likely. The pot will be bloated, and he will have about a pot size bet remaining. Calling more bets, than they should, is villains largest mistake at microstakes.

Questions Help Improve Thinking In Similar Spots:

What hands does BB, call preflop, then check-raise, pre-flop raisers bet, and CO calling?
What is our equity against these hands?
How often is BB bluffing?
