Hey guys, is this okay or should I have taken a more passive line here?

Villian is running at 28/9 over 55 hands AFq:28 and nothing else remarkable thus far. He's been a joy to have to my left, rarely defends blinds and this is the 1st ive heard from him

Poker Stars $0.02/$0.05 No Limit Hold'em - 6 players
The Official 2+2 Hand Converter Powered By DeucesCracked.com

BTN: $2.02
SB: $4.95
BB: $3.98
UTG: $6.35
MP: $6.28
Hero (CO): $5.07

Pre Flop: ($0.07) Hero is CO with 9 8
1 fold, MP calls $0.05, Hero raises to $0.25, BTN calls $0.25, 3 folds

Flop: ($0.62) 2 7 6 (2 players)
Hero bets $0.35, BTN raises to $0.70, Hero raises to $4.82 all in...

I felt I had decent equity vs A7, A6 etc and can fold out any club draws though I doubt these are in his range much here. Think I should have just called and c/c or blockerd blank turns for around $0.20 as these guys hate to raise twice unless they have the nuts. Maybe I can bluff Ace or King turns, though im not sure as sets make a big part of his range here.

Thanks for your time.

This is a terrible play. You said the guy rarely defends his hands, so you need to respect the re-raise more.

Also, take this hand from the villains point of view. You 3bet the flop all in? This is the most obvious bluff/marginal play in 5nl. You have a better shot bluffing with a $2 bet.

This is indeed bad. Given his stats, villain might call you with 88+, any flush draw, and even top pair. Also, passive villains don't usually like to minraise/fold.

^he has less than 2 behind...

fd is never folding to flop 3bet lol
hand is fine you have no FE but good enough odds to call (shove)
e: you can also call flop and c/f turn but you'd be getting 3to1 on turn and you prob still have 25% equity there so meh, i just ship flop

Don't think its that bad, I do have good equity vs top pair and he's pretty short, I wasn't expecting folds too often. Just couldn't see any other way of playing it as I have dirrect odds to call now if I only consdier my straight draw outs, this leaves the pot at $2 with around $1 behind which I would hate to c/f ott.

Exactly. I think it was played fine, but his ass all in. Better to do it on an earlier street then flatting and have to deal with the next card. But Villain doesn't have many chips left anyways, so yeah.

I was thinking I may be able to improve my fold equity if an ace or king rolled off, I know I would never actually have it myself but these guys are always scared by overcards to their pair, so I may be able to fold out 88-TT by shoving if the right turn card came?

Edit: Clubs may work too.

I don't like isolating with 89o here but everything postflop is standard so wp.

We can find a much better spot to isolate than this pre . As played it seems as though you encountered the 'durrrr' syndrome , however i am calling his minraise

Sorry I didn't notice his stack size.

Yeah, I should have put in the post that I was only isolating as the origional limper was limping 40% and only calling the raise like 1/4 of the time I did this to him and had just check folded every single time postflop. So I just couldn't resist it. This isn't my standard line.
