Villain is unknown.

A bunch of players had just left making it a 5 player game. Thought about posting in 6 max because of this but they are still FR opponents who do not play the same as 6 max, regardless of people leaving.

I really thought villain was chasing a draw. I think I should have raised more PF being OOP and vs the BTN. Turn I bet 1/2 because if he has the flush or straight I figured he would be raising me there. Looking back on it I don't like my 1/2 bet. When he called and the King came I figured I was ahead as he was holding Ax perhaps with a spade. Of course that means the K did nothing to improve my hand unless he has 2 pair. If he had a set, flush or straight I figured he would have raised before now unless he has KsXs as he would feel very safe with that.

Given so many 5NL players love to hang on to Ax and the odds I'm given I don't think I can fold here. General feedback is welcomed. I'm never comfortable playing these hands where I have good SD value and there is a possibly made flush on the board with my opponent calling.

Preflop: Hero is BB with A K
2 folds, BTN raises to $0.10, SB folds, Hero raises to $0.30, BTN calls $0.20

Flop: ($0.62) A 6 5 (2 players)
Hero bets $0.45, BTN calls $0.45

Turn: ($1.52) 4 (2 players)
Hero bets $0.75, BTN calls $0.75

River: ($3.02) K (2 players)
Hero bets $1.45, BTN raises to $3.22

It's a good thing I haven't been playing poker today. I'm just having a day full of brain farts. Is there no way for me to edit my OP?

    Raise to around 0.4 pre.

You can bet way bigger OTT, like 1.2.

River is kinda close, but i would probably c/c. As played, it kinda sucks, i would just put it in stove.

See it's spots like this turn where I'm not quite sure during play. He calls my 3/4 flop bet when there are 3 spades with an Ace on the board and I 3b pre. I feel like I should bet big in case of draws OTT but should I really expect worse to call such a large second cbet?

When he calls the flop his range is KX/QX flushes (he'll raise smaller ones a decent % of the time, as another spade kills his action + is a scarecard for him), AX and pairs with a spade. Generally, most villains will raise a set on monotone boards. There are still a few in his range though.

Turn is pretty much a blank, so we can bet/fold bigger, as Ks/Qs are calling a decent amount, and AX/AX w/ a spade will call a decent sized bet too. By betting smaller, you're giving hands like 99 with a spade odds to draw. There is still plently of value OTT.

River is a c/c, as i doubt many villains will be calling AX (probably AQ) down for 3 streets in a 3b pot. It prevents us losing more money when villain has a flush, and also allows him to bluff hands like missed spades.

Hands like AQ/AJ maybe even AT arnt going anywhere on the river. Obviously hands like QQ/JJ with the spade draw will probably fold but theres not much we can do about that I would rather bet for value against his Ax hands rather than risk the river getting checked back.

Thanks for the replies. I called and he had QsTs. Guess I really should have bet more OTT and raised more pre. It's not like they are going hit the flush on the flop very often.
