no reads on villian as first hand that i have tracked on him. The fact that he left 40% of his stack behind is kinda what scared me off the hand. thoughts??

I would fold with no reads, set big possibility here I think

This is way too nitty. You need to assess him with a range.

Then base your decision on his range, not a specific hand.

QJ diamonds is just as likely as a set of Tens.

Fold > shove > call.

Expecting pocket pairs more often than draws, given b/c from UTG.

get it in.. Because if you fold your could just as easy 3bet XX and cbet/fold here.. this means you are bluffing with QQ

As has been said before, pocket pairs are pretty common here. Having said that, many a villian will pull something like this off with an over they flatted pre. With that in mind the only hand you are beating here is JJ. Even if we do include big combo draws you are flipping with them at best, i would think AKs here is far more likely than a 9Js or 97s. Give him a range of 3 combos of sets, 2 over pairs that beat yours, one over pair which you dominate and something like AKs, plus the ther QQ, it looks like you have 30% equity against that 'range'. Pretty standard fold imo. I would ship sets, maybe AA with the heart in it, and big combo draws when pot odds are favourable.
