was torn here on the river, if this were a big pot i would have overbet it significantly targeting an ace

but since pot only 7.7bb i think he could possibly fold an ace here given unless i'm spewing his upside is a chop with chance of getting wrecked

so went with that small bet hoping to induce with ace/bluff or at least get some action from a bluff catcher that'd otherwise check behind

my main concern however is that by betting here he could sometimes just flat with an ace and i'd play a much smaller pot than if i x/r river instead

how would you guys have played this turn and river?

DDP, is turn a possible donk spot?


I'm definitely betting river as played. People shut down a lot when they get called on Axx, so I wouldn't expect him to bet very often if you checked.

I could see betting a little smaller though. The sizing you chose he's really only calling with an ace.

"normal" bet is proapbly worst, either bet small to target hands weaker than A or make a big overbet to target A

i don't think it's a donk spot but there's a lot of stuff i've learned that i wouldn't think was standard which apparently is so i'm going into this open minded but in a vacuum i'm checking 100% of the time on this turn unless i learned some new theory that advocated otherwise

Bigger the cbet sizing the more we donk on this exact turn. We wouldn't donk on Ax/3x turns though since PFR has better Ax and we don't have much 3x.

I'd still donk turn and then probably xr river all in.

Turn is definitely a good donk spot imo since you have so much Tx. But I don't mind the check either obviously. As played I would go for the x/r otr, he's not gonna x an A again and also might bluf

Interesting spot. I would either OB or X/raise, Ax wont raise vs any kind of sizing unless ip is bad.

IP calls 10% of the time with his Ax, so if you think he would call more then that with Ax jam is even better then in theory.

Wouldn't we rather over bet in this spot? Ax is surely going to call thinking "if he has a T he has it whatever"
