I would check back river because you only beat K9... most of his range is missed draws and quite a few better Kx, you can only guess if he's going to call with 99 or 8x.

Giving up on thin value is less of a mistake that trying to squeeze out too much too often as you'll be putting in more money with a losing range.

most fish aren't even capable of betting their own draws, let alone expect others to do it

I just put in some ranges in stove, and I guess you can get to 60% equity quite easily if you think he's calling a lot of 8x, and it's 40 if he's usually folding those (but a few), so like I expected it hovers somewhere around 50, which is too thin I think as he can still x/r some hands etc.
