Reads: Villain is 30/24 over 33 hands. I've 3bet his CO opens while on the BTN twice and he folded. I've defended his BTN open w/ AJ in the SB and he got 3 streets of value on J82xx w/ 22.

I was running 25/19 or close to it, w/ 3bet % 10+

$0.25/$0.50 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 5 Players

UTG: $67.50
CO: $51.85
BTN: $63.80
Hero (SB): $62.85
BB: $49.45

Pre-Flop: Q Q dealt to Hero (SB)
2 folds, BTN raises to $1.50, Hero raises to $5.50, BB folds, BTN calls $4

Flop: ($11.50) J 3 4 (2 Players)
Hero bets $6.50, BTN calls $6.50

Turn: ($24.50) 4 (2 Players)
Hero bets $12.50, BTN calls $12.50

River: ($49.50) J (2 Players)
Hero bets $38.35 and is All-In

Call me crazy, but are you *really* ever getting called by worse on the river? His most likely hand is a J, and he got there. Am I missing something? You're turning your hand into a bluff, and there's no reason to. If you don't think he has a J, then check and call a bluff. Why give away a stack?

I'm not turning my hand into a bluff.

JsTs, its a wierd concept at first but hes right. What hes sayin is that you get called by hands that beat you and hands that lose fold. Therefore your trying to get him to fold, cause if he calls you lose, hence your bluffing. You have to check fold here, unless you have a sick read. Id take a check/fold line here personally (without a read)

you didn't mean to, but you did turn your hand into a bluff. 55-TT folds the turn. you are behind Jx/KK/AA/33/44. What else do you expect him to have?

What if villain's turn calling range includes 55-TT, then wha'ts your play on the river?

Check/call I think. With your river bet it doesn't look like you are scared of the jack so the only way imo to get value from his underpairs is to check/call river. I think he is folding 55-TT with your river bet and snap calling any jack or full house (hence turning your hand into a bluff as others said).
