50NL: JJ vs. BTN steal... 50NL: JJ vs. BTN steal...

Villain is a multi-tabling reg playing 23/23 and steals 46% over a 40-hand sample. I've been at the table for 28 hands. No history between us. Neither of us has done anything crazy out-of-line so far. I defended my blind one time with a 3bet (and took it down I believe). I can't remember if I defended against HIM or someone else...

Full Tilt Poker $0.25/$0.50 No Limit Hold'em - 6 players
The Official 2+2 Hand Converter Powered By DeucesCracked.com

Hero (BB): $58.25
UTG: $59.50
MP: $48.15
CO: $53.55
BTN: $50.00
SB: $43.10

Pre Flop: ($0.75) Hero is BB with J J
3 folds, BTN raises to $1.25, 1 fold, Hero raises to $4, BTN raises to $9.75, Hero?

Tough spot IMO. I hate folding this, but we got 4bet...

Edit: actually upon closer inspection, this is probably a pretty easy fold. Sorry about this hasty post. You can probably lock it down now...

I think its fine to shove/5b over this vs a btn vs blind situation.. hes agg enough to do this light imo. if it was a nit than yah,, folding is fine.. but here I wouldnt mine just shoving..

3-bet bigger to 5.50 at least, better 6.

a 4-bet at NL50 is QQ+ and AK, a reg might be able to 4-bet bluff though, especially since your 3-bet was so small.

shove.

If reg is any good this is a shove, if he is not capable of 4 betting light than its a fold....

Don't think 50nl gets it in light enough to shove here and your 3-betsize should be bigger.

3bet a little more like 4.75/5 (not 6 tho that's too much given his open size) and just fold to a 4bet

if you get a sense/read that he's messing around with 4bets in steal/resteal spots you can just ship it on him profitably even if he only calls QQ+/AK given the folds you will get.

depends how light he sees your three bet range. if he sees your three bet range as wide then i would insta shove this for value. if he thinks you are a pretty tight straightforward player then most likely fold.

This is quite important imo. If you 3bet this villain I´d definitely shove over his 4bet.

Make it like $4.75-$5 pre.

I'd pretty much always shove JJ here over a 50NL reg who 4 bets to that size BTN vs BB, absent any other reads or information.

This is such a standard fold with no read. I cannot fathom calling or shoving without a good read. What is he 4betting you with? He is a reg, multitabling, that does not seem out of line. You said it yourself. Its not like he is just looking to donk into another reg that is not out of line.

apart from your 3bet being a little small the hand isn't really 'bad' in any way

Isn't JJ pretty std to get it in BTN v BB?

against an "unkown reg" (how do u know he is a reg???) just fold.... you have zero history with him and zero reason at this point to believe he is getting way outta line often enough to ship

also i have no real problem with ur 3bet size... its more then 3x his so.....

I think QQ and AK is a shove
