Ok this villain is 61/16/3 over 140 hands and is running hot. I caught him bluff 2 times before. after the hand I wasnt sure if this was the right play against him. what do you guys think?

I'd rather call his flop c/r and re-evaluate on the turn. You lost much more by 3betting his C/R here.

I'd rather not 3b him here without a massive draw or set. For 300 BBs I'm not looking to get it in with one pair, which is what's going to happen if you play small to medium overpairs this fast, this deep.

Yea I realized that too now. Insane, stupid play with such deep stacks.

Big draws, good overpairs - jj+, straight, sets and occasionaly air.

What do you have when your flat calling a c/r on this flop? 3-betting this thinly here is going to allow people 4-bet you much more often on the flop with hands that would usually be a big decision, putting you in a lot more tough spots.

Kind of like this hand...
