This could be really standard but I'm running bad so just wanted to check.

Full Tilt Poker $0.25/$0.50 No Limit Hold'em - 5 players

BTN: $40.75
SB: $78.15
BB: $62.45
UTG: $55.65
Hero (CO): $49.25

Pre Flop: ($0.75) Hero is CO with K A
UTG raises to $1.50, Hero raises to $4.50, 3 folds, UTG calls $3

Flop: ($9.75) T 3 K (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets $6, UTG calls $6

Turn: ($21.75) J (2 players)
UTG bets $10.50, Hero raises to $38.75 all in, UTG calls $28.25

River: ($99.25) 9 (2 players - 1 is all in)

worst turn card in the deck, all SD and FD arrived.

a fold on the turn might be on the nitty side, but what do we beat.

JJ made trips on the turn, AQ made a straight and the flush is possible too.

turn bet looks like he wants to induce action.

readless i would fold.

but its a really tough spot.

I don't know if I really like shoving over his donkbet on the turn here. Thats a pretty bad card it completes a lot of draws.

Do you have any reads? What range were you putting him on? Obviously you thought you were doing that for value, what better hands can you get to fold?

The question is though if you shove here what worse hands call? If I had Ac I would do that all day at least you have outs if your behind and it takes out a bunch of combo draw possibilities for him.

Is calling even good on this turn? I think if we call his bet were we have 28 left into a pot of 42. We can still fold but I don't like that after committing half our stack. Also we don't like so many river cards here calling is -EV to.

I guess the correct play is to fold here.

we can comfortably fold on the turn because we have invested only 20 % of our stack.

agree with drizzy

depends on the villain. if he has a AF of 1.0 then maybe a fold. but I think folding on the turn is pretty bad.

i'm ok with the call/call line as we're not getting any value from a raise on the turn (+value bet when he checks on river is way too thin), and we have a pretty good hand. if he c/r us on the turn I'd probably fold it. as it is he's giving us a good price to continue in the pot.

Villain was playing 50/30 over about 40 hands. He wasn't overly aggro post-flop though, but made lots of spewy post-flop calls.

Couple of notes on him:
- doesn't let go off top pair
- doesn't fold draws, including gutshots
- doesn't fold to 3-bets

I guess his spewy pre-flop habits made me go autopilot on this hand.
I agree that this was poorly played.

well vs. a spewy postflop opponent, we could decide to play bluff catcher and call turn and river.

if he is spewy, he could easily donk the turn with a hand like KQ.

vs. regs and nits its a turn fold.

vs. spewy ones we can call turn and river.

his bet clearly means he doesn't want the turn to get checked through. what hands don't want that? probably hands without a club. but at the same time, he's not bluffing.

the only non-club hands betting for value here that we beat are the other AK without a club

the hands that beat us are JJ/TT/KK/AA/AQ if he's bad
