This hand went down against a total unknown. the only thing I am losing to is QJ. I guess KJ or a J with a flush draw is also freerolling me, plus if we are splitting there is the rake to take in account, but can you every fold this?

Very odd hand on his part. Limps, calls pfr, checks flop then shoves turn?
Bluffing and representing the straight here is pretty risky, since you could definitely have it. Maybe he's assuming your check on the flop is a sign of weakness and trying to push you off the hand? It's just hard to imagine he's shoving with nothing. I'd guess you guys are at best splitting this pot.

a really tough spot.
An argument can be made to call this bs bet.
The problem here is that this is QJ most of the time.
If you call you dont have any card that improves your hand.
Calling and spliting with rake is the worst.
he cannot have a FD here with a jack(you have it!).
so, this can be a set scared of the straight and a FD looking for a fold.
if this is QJ thats just sick.
QJ 30% of the time and the rest is bs(including sets, draws,2pair and air!).
oh and dont forget AAs.lolz

I dunno where you come up with your numbers Dante. Don't just make % estimations off the top of your head and toss em out there.

villain does this with J's, prob 2 pairs, sets, prob even a 6. If this was 200NL+ Id probably just fold. Snap call and throw your mouse when he felts QJ sometimes.

i will answer this for you(once not twice) why?
because i want to believe, this is not sarcasm or any other behavior of berating me
This is the line of poker thinking:
1. you set up a range: you put villain on a range and give that range NUMBERS or percentage of times, you think villain holds that hand. this range and numbers HAVE TO COME FROM THE TOP OF YOUR HEAD.
2. Equity: you need to have a range(and numbers) and see how your hand does vs that range.
3. Maximize: you need to look for the best line to get out the maximum amount of EV+.

i hope this explains why i do that.
P.S: if i see any post insultative or anything like it, i will ignorate any post you make from then on.

I think this is an easy fold. FWIW, I don't think this would be a bad play with QJ on Villain's part. So many people would talk themselves into calling with a J, and not a lot of hands without a J would call any sizable bet, especially given the action.
