Just over 100 hands with this villain. He's been 3-betting me quite often, but I've been card dead and haven't been able to do much about it. Had been up to about $60, but had slowly dwindled down to where we are here.

I figured I had to play back at some point, and thought he was probably 3-betting light, but couldn't be sure. Didn't feel comfortable 4-betting AT, so I flat called it, planning on going after the pot post-flop (which I had been fairly successful at thus far).

Standard but i wont feel good about it.I mean if he 3bet you very light as you said but he's not an idiot he's not pushing Ax < 9 there. That's said you'r really beating JT-AK-AQ there, but obv your very ahead just of JT.

Anyway,i would played as you.

FWIW, he was drawing with Q9 (3-betting even lighter than I thought); the turn A sealed the deal for me. But I wanted to get some thoughts on whether this was +ev in the long run. I think it is against certain villains like this one, but not sure about against players that are a little bit better.

That being said, I was getting 3.5 to 1 odds on my call so I think it's almost impossible to lay down because I've got a decent number of outs against a flopped straight and only AJ or a set puts me in a real bad spot here.
