Title pretty much says it all, but I feel like opening 22-66 LJ-CO has been burning money.

I have started to open 4x LJ-HJ, and 4x + BB/limper HJ-CO to try and get as many flops HU as possible.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there are very few flops we can c bet that we don't flop a set on when we have 22-66. I feel like all I'm doing with these hands is x-f flops.

Do you recommend still opening these hands in stationary games? I never do this, and haven't open limped in years, but could there be an argument for open limping these hands because of IO?

imo don't do fancy stuff follow the preflop tables and learn to play the hands post flop from there. sometimes you can turn low pps into "bluffs" right from the flop

Yeah i used to auto open every pp from every position but thats a leak. Some high stakes regs i know mix opens/folds with 22-66 from utg/mp but you could probably pure fold 22-44 for sure and lose zero EV (if anything lose less EV than opening). I personallyam pretty confident that at any decent online table 22-44 are -ev opens from utg/mp and this is magnified if you arent completely crushing postflop and make a lot of mistakes wrt cbetting and whatnot

22-33 are low EV opens from CO. if you dont feel dirty about being a nit folding them isnt the end of the world. It also depends on the games youre playing. Live people suck so much open folding 44 from co is a huge mistake but if you have a tough pool folding 44 isnt really a disaster

Other than looking to get a general idea, i think preflop charts are a waste of time. People say its "standard blah blah" but there are a lot of variables when it comes to preflop. And "standard" doesnt always mean good. If it was that easy, then anyone could just print out the charts and have it by their computer and crush poker. Ive seen some charts recommend 60-70% rfi from sb and that is just ridiculous vs any decent BB

Ive never played pbros but i dont think you should be open folding 22-66 co. Ive seen a lot of 6betme's HH and theres a lot of whaling/gifting stacks going on and not much preflop aggression

I just ran a hole card filter for my 42000 hands in Poker Star PA.

22 - VPIP 82.38%, bb/100 39.39
33 - VPIP 89.07%, bb/100 49.69
44 - VPIP 91.63%, bb/100 -29.73
55 (the money maker) VPIP 89.64, bb/100 331.41
66 - VPIP 93.01, bb/100 123.87

Two disclaimers. First is it’s only 42000 hands. Second is I table select with an obsession. I will only play at soft tables looking to exploit fish. I’m not trying to be a great poker player. I just want to be at least 2nd best at my table.

I did filter out all my opens in the first two positions with 22-66. It's only 216 hand sample, and my winrate is 212.54 bb/100

Although currently I did switch to only opening 66+ UTG.

I also have a modest win rate with 22-66 cold calling in the SB, but recently moved to only defending 66+ unless it's a BTN open.

I bumhunt at a lower level than 100nl but nevertheless this is my experience as well - if there are fish out there and/or your opponents aren't three-betting your early-position raises then yeah - open-raise to your heart's content.

with the mid to low pps, you just hope to pick up the blinds often enough, nobody says you need to force action with weak made hands post that don't interact with the board in any way
and unlike opening 75s, at least you have a pair and win some showdowns vs Ahighs when you don't make a set or bluff catch a street
solver opens 44-22 at very low freq until the btn
tho they're used quite a lot more in any pos if bb is loose and passive

I open 99+ UTG

I fold 22-55 until I reach BTN (use it more for steal - no set no bet)

I use low PP to set mine vs nits (the limp reraising AA, min 3betting, slowplaying trappy nut peddling variety)

tip: remove the times you flopped set when u RFI 22-66. Then check the win rate. That is a true measure. Are you winning 1 big pot (100bb) for every 12 hands you lost ?

op, in the games you play, it makes sense to tighten up your rfi, open big and use the time saved to add another table

When you guys say follow preflop tables, are you referring to solver ranges?
