Villain is very aggressive, ~25/20/3 and I'm like 26/22/3 and we have a lot of light 3- and 4-betting history together.

$5/$10 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 5 Players
LeggoPoker.com - Hand History Converter

BTN: $826.65
SB: $1,002.75
BB: $985
Hero (UTG): $2,190.50
CO: $1,047

SB posts $5
Pre-Flop: K A dealt to Hero (UTG)
Hero raises to $35, 3 folds, BB raises to $120

Usually I'd feel pretty confident about 4-betting this preflop but the fact that I opened UTG and he 3-betted me OOP makes me wondering that it's not my best option. I mean, is there really any good player who would 3-bet lightly in this spot ? Am I just being a pussy here or is 4-betting in this spot truly bad ?

seems like a good enough reason to 4bet/get it in to me. unless he cbets everything and ur gonna shove a ton of flops.

edit: i guess you don't even need to shove a bunch of flops. you can call cbets i think. thoughts on how we're going to play the hand postflop if we call?

Since you're both very aggro and have the history described, seems 4-betting is fine. Did any of the previous 3- and 4-bet hands occur UTG vs blinds, or was it all BTN vs blind kind of scenarios? Typically this looks like a bad spot to 4-bet, but it really depends on the details of your history together.

Actually the previous 3- and 4-betting all occured in the typical BTN vs blind or SB vs BB situation, he might have 3-bet me 1 or 2 times from the blinds when I opened UTG but I didn't give him any action. I don't think he's 3-betting lightly when I open from UTG, whatever his position is.

4bet and get ai...this is beyond standard given the dynamics and history

4b or calling is fine. Depends if you feel you have an edge postflop. A 4b sure makes it easier to play and would be my default vs an opponent I think will be making a lot of moves.

4betting is definitely not a mistake. Calling is fine too.

i'd nearly always 4bet esp with history. although he would never put you on AK on an Ahigh of Khigh flop so..
