Villain seems like a decent regular - I can't make much sense of his line though, other than a set that was afraid of a turned straight.

What is the range that villain plays this line with? I think it's mostly sets - does anything else make sense here?

it makes sense if he's trying to CR turn. I would be grateful he let us see the river with probably a monster and fold my hand.
