[converted_hand][hand_history]Merge, $0.02/$0.04 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 5 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

SB: $2.12 (53 bb)28/21
BB: $1.20 (30 bb)35/2
MP: $4.98 (124.5 bb)
CO: $4 (100 bb)
BTN: $8.07 (201.8 bb)18/4

Preflop: Hero is in MP with A8
MP raises to $0.18, CO folds, BTN calls $0.18, SB folds, BB calls $0.14

I usually just would fold this here but the CO had just bought in and I was mostly hoping to steal the dead money.

Flop: ($0.60) 6 A 3 (3 players)

with the ace I'm pretty sure this is an auto cnet but I wanted to know if this would be a good flop to Cbet supposing I didn't have an ace

Check/call weak aces on ace high dry boards as the PFR in general. Because most villains aren't calling without an ace, and there's loads of them that dominate you.

Whereas if you check villain might try and stab with pocket 7's or whatever.

Also if the CO is an unknown this makes it even more reason to fold pre tbh. For all you know an 80% VPIP whale could have just sat next to you and this is the kind of hand you really don't want to see a flop with OOP. The blinds look loose too so not much chance of just getting it folded round. Just fold pre.

Did CO post a dead blind? I don't see it in the hh, but I assume that's what you mean by him having just bought in and stealing the dead money and also why our pf raise is so big.

I would c/c flop, not just because it makes sense with this hand anyway, but we need a significant amount of Ax in our c/c range here with all of the underpairs that we have.

Are you saying you have a significant c/c range opening from MP on an Axx board? Isn't this a pretty simple cbet that we probably take down a lot of the time?

Asking because I'm not sure. I didn't think having a c/c range on this kind of flop at 4NL is a big deal. Being 3ways a large determining factor here? Curious to hear you expand on that, I really like your posting!

I actually misread the hand as being HU, in which case I have usually have a pretty significant c/c range on almost all flops unless I have a particular reason not to based on the opponent's range/play. The reason for that is that even though it will often be giving up some immediate profit in cbet $, it allows us to make more use of our entire range by being able to c/c with some pretty shaky hands without our opponents being able to abuse us for it since we're also providing enough protection with some fairly decent hands.

In 3way pots I'd be c/cing a lot less flops since people will bluff less, have tighter ranges, and ofc because there's more villains. I would still be c/c with this particular hand in this situation, but I'd be doing it with nearly as many lesser things as I would HU.

how would you feel about betting out here if the BB checks to try to buy the button. if the button calls I would be kind of scared here mostly because of his tight range but I'm feel like the BB would call with a lot of weaker aces and draws as well so I wouldn't be totally worried of him calling and then just try to play pot control on later streets. do you think this would be good or is there something wrong with that play that I'm missing.
