4NL: Did I let villian rob me of that pot due to lack of initiative? 4NL: Did I let villian rob me of that pot due to lack of initiative?

Villian is 23/1.7/1.4 over 290 hands. I have a note on villian that he likes to limp in/call 1 raise with small PPs.

Party Poker $5 No Limit Hold'em - 10 players
2+2 Hand Converter Powered By DeucesCracked

SB: $2.51
BB: $3.48
UTG: $4.68
UTG+1: $2.06
UTG+2: $1.34
MP1: $2.04
Hero (MP2): $5.12
MP3: $5.00
CO: $1.92
BTN: $12.16

Pre Flop: Hero is MP2 with J J
UTG calls $0.04, 1 fold, UTG+2 calls $0.04, 1 fold, Hero raises to $0.24, MP3 calls $0.24, 6 folds

Flop: ($0.62) 7 6 9 (2 players)
Hero bets $0.38, MP3 calls $0.38

Turn: ($1.38) 9 (2 players)
Hero checks, MP3 bets $1.44, Hero?

The thing is, I've been running pretty well on various sites but *not* on Party. I just lack reads on the players there. But here I had a note and it suggested to me to slow down. But the question is: is it terrible play here to check the turn and give up the initiative? What's a solid, taggy play on all streets? TIA

oop I think you can c/f this turn.

You don't know where you are, and villian is going to put a lot of pressure on you on the river.

At 4nl, people aren't being tricky. You can fold this, since he has the 9 and doesn't want the flush draw to hit.

125BB deep I would probably check this turn as well. Even if you are ahead now, you are OOP and there are so many river cards you do not want to see forcing you to bet fold to a raise on both the turn on the river.

I agree with venice10, the guy has a 9 and doesn't want to see another card to make complete straights/flushes = easy fold
