Alright, so just looking for line check here or if we should consider calling one more bet on turn and seeing a river.

I call flop because people cbet a lot of their 3bet range because they don't want to 'give up' the pot by checking. Usual range for pre-flop 3bet - 99+, AQs+, AQo+. I imagine all of this range continues on this flop.

Reason for jamming the turn is that we want to try and get called from AQ/AKcc (and any other potential Axcc, even if it's unlikely) as villain seems to like his hand. We don't want to see a scare card for JJ either and we're only losing to TT/KK/AA.

Thoughts?

It's true that villain should have a high c-bet frequency on that flop, but once he's called, he'll usually only barrel with high equity hands, by which I mean sets, overpairs and draws. You're not smashing that range (and don't have much fold equity vs it) so calling would be the typical play. Shoving kind of value-cuts yourself, because you fold out all the bluffs, and get snapped by KK+, sets, and AKcc (which you aren't massively ahead). I think JJ is the only hand which calls that you're crushing. Your turn jams for value should just be TT/88 I think.

I would rather 4b pre to 24BB. I also wouldn't raise turn, especially holding the Qc. You having QcQx means he can't have AcQc,KcQc,QcJc, maybe a hand like Qc9c, i.e. bluffs in his range that barrel this turn.

Yeah Arty, what you're saying is mirroring my after thoughts as I went over the hand again.

Flp, by 4betting here at 2NL, we very, very rarely get called by worse.

The very same logic could be applied to your turn raise where ranges are now narrower than they were preflop. Besides the point, if they fold hands like A5s,ATs,AJs,AQ, etc, to a 4b pre, I would be happy with that result. Though I suppose, as most cases with NL, it's V dependant. I don't mind flatting and playing IP from the CO with QQ, but, I think I 4b more often.

So what do they do with 88-JJ?

I think you played standard all the way up to the turn. Villain in this situation would only be calling your shove with sets, JJ+, or even broadway suited club draws.

In this scenario, you're really only crushing one hand which would be JJ, meaning that in all you're not really in a great position to be shoving the turn. While you are blocking the equity for club draws, you're also digging your own grave against 80% of his range that currently crushes you.

Calling down the turn would be the EV+ play.
