2nl vs. 5nl 2nl vs. 5nl

So i've played 2nl on stars for about 10K hands now averaging 15BB/100. I now have $100 and am thinking about moving up to 5nl.

My question is am I going to be making more money buying in for 250bb at 2nl or buying in for 100bb at 5nl? Also is the play at 5nl any tougher?

'Tougher' isn't really the word for it, but 5NL is overall noticeably better than 2NL, because there are fewer absolute spewmonkeys around to donate 250BB stacks. So you won't beat it for as high a rate as you beat 2NL. But you won't find any really skilled opponents there. The name of the game is still the same -- play strong values, see cheap flops with speculative hands, and peddle nuts and watch them pay off.

But will the higher blinds make up for it and give me a higher $/100? Or do I have to wait until i am able to buy in for 200bb at 5nl.

$/100 will definitely go up in the long run, once you adapt. It's worth the move, you gotta move to 5nl so you can make it to 10nl and then to 25nl..... you get the idea

My guess is if your not going to buy in full at 5 NL than you can probably achieve a better over $/100 at 2 NL buying in full but i maybe way off. Never played 2 NL but started at 5 NL with a limit background and have beat it for about 12+bb/100 over a larger sample so no its not to tough and that is with no NL experience at all.
