On the one hand if he had two pair, TPTK or a straight then I think he would have bet the turn.....even though I check it thinking he might be slow playing his straight.

On the other hand, I don't know if I'm physically capable of folding a set at 2NL, cause sometimes they have bottom pair or ace high.

Why are you so inclined to think he has a straight ott that you don't bet turn for value? Bet the turn and re evaluate the river. As played easy fold . Pretty big river spazz even at 2nl without a baby flush at worst.

I know....stupid. When the board gets scary I basically just say to myself to keep the pot small, so control it on the turn. Need to get it into my head that people bet when they have something at 2NL, and check when they don't.

If you decide to keep the pot small out of discomfort, that is okay for now(while learning) as long as you carefully review the hands to get a better gauge on when to bet/check or fold in the spots that make you uncomfortable. You may lose $ value but gain much knowledge value. Question every action from both players in the hand and forget the money involved as it is directly linked to your decisions. Decisions>money.

standard bet on turn and fold if he raises. He calls then check river and if he bets fold.

Nits ITT, bet/call the turn, even if he does have the straight you have a ton of outs, and if he ever shows up with 2 pair or a flush draw here you'll be printing the money.
