At the time I considered going for the c/r on the end but wasn't certain how often he would bet for thin value or bluff. I chose an overbet thinking if he does have two pair he will call a big bet and possibly raise with straights when the obvious flush missed.

As for what other posters have suggested it seems to be a mix of bet more, looks standard, c/r turn or river etc.

Meh. Flop and turn are standard although we can argue about bet-sizes. All options on river have merit because our hand is so strong. Checking misses value from some combos like KJ or other bluffcatchers people get attached to when the first flush misses. KQ/KT are nearly always betting, AsJs, and he has all the JT/spades stuff to bluff with as well.

Overall, I think villains have enough hands they'll bet and hate life with but won't ever raise.

You get a 15 second timer so you don't get a ton of time to process, obviously trying to do that through the hand and think ahead. I was trying to weigh which would make more, overbet or check and hope he calls a raise. I figured hands that can call a c/r would also call the overbet and there seem to be enough that can put the money in on the river. I think if the villain has anything other than what he did he could have bet 2/3 pot and called a small raise which would have netted more on average. On the other hand if he has a hand that will call but not raise he may bet fold if checked to yet still call an overbet lead when the obvious flush bricks. Kind of felt like I was throwing darts at a board hoping something would stick.

In game, with 15 seconds, I'd just look at positions/board and figure that most of the hands you get big value from bet themselves except for KJ. plus you get some bluffs. If it turns out he's really bad and his range is a lot wider (as happened) then you're missing value from stuff like K9/Qx etc. but whatever he's an unk with a decent stack.

So if I'm understanding you correctly you're okay with going for a c/r because he's going to bet a number of hands on this run out and/or it's a wet board that he may bluff at? Just want to make sure I understand what you're suggesting.
