I don't think I can value bet here, even though I *really* wanted to. Villain was quite new to table, had played two hands - one quite passively with TPNK and the other folded to a cbet after calling from BB and folding to a cbet.

Whats up with the turnbet? Make it 7.5-8.5 to size up the pot for the river so he will have a harder time to get away from anything decent.

why wouldnt you be able to get value? he'll have an OP here a decent ammount of the time, and he looks like a total fish. i would call flop, bet bigger on turn, bet river.

He has only $30. Small turn bet lets him shove draws back into me as well as overplay hands like AA and KK. Obviously I will get more value from a larger turn bet when he has a hand he is committed to but I think he folds some straight draws to a larger bet and I'd like to keep QJ and JT in at that point. There is no way I can bet the river and expect good value now I've let him draw for the wrong price.

i dont see draws rasing your small turn bet too often. make it 8 to go.
I think checking that turn looks ok. but i see some value there even thoug the river is super ugly. I would make a small value bet and fold to a raise. make it like 9-11$ and fold to a shove because than you re definitely beat. I see here some Overpairs some weaker pairs might call as well a small bet. i hate shoving river btw.

I would make a big value bet on the river 100% of the time in this spot.

Of course there are plausible holdings which are beating you, e.g. 88, 33, and made flushes. (Pocket spades without the Ace and hands making a straight are less likely to have min raised preflop so should be heavily discounted.)

These holdings are heavily outnumbered by the made hands which will likely call, AA-TT. In terms of combinations, there is a total of 30 hands here, whereas there are only twelve of 88 and 33 and just a few flush hands.

Also, you have more information about Villian than you seem to recognise. The min raise is a donk play, and he is more likely to call with a weak made hand. A donk with a monster will also have raised you by now very often.

At this level you will also be called by unimproved Ace high hands more often than than sanity requires.

So bet. If he shows you a winner you still played it right.
