suppose you are utg:

hand 1: QQ, you raise to 1, lp raises to 3.50...hero?

hand 2: AQ, you raise to 1, lp calls. flop: Q 8 2, you lead for 2.50, lp raises to 7.50...hero?

reasoning behind lines would be appreciated

thanks,
mariogs

1. Reraise. I like 7 or 8. You can still fold to a shove, but reads needed at this point.
2. Reads plz. Also need to know if flop is rainbow.

hand 1: Generally, call and hope for a flop without an A or K on it. I suppose you can 4 bet if you think they're willing to go with worse hands than QQ, but generally I wouldn't 4 bet QQ in this kind of situation.

hand 2: Normally I think this is a call and re-evaluate the turn kind of thing. It also depends on the flop and opponent. Villain having 2 pair on a board of Q82 is unlikely, which means they could be doing this with a flush draw, set, AQ, maybe a slowplayed KK/AA? Anyway, I think you should generally check it to him on the turn and decide whether you're going with TPTK or not. I guess if you think he's more likely to be on a draw, you should bet turn.

Depends on villains & stack sizes really.

Vrs unknown, with 100 BB stacks, in hand 1 I call, cuz I think while 4betting might be +EV overall, it's too high varience for me and am pretty confident I can outplay postflop.

Hand 3, once again, vrs unknown with 100BB stacks, I 3bet & probably get it in. It's a very dry flop, unless there's a flush draw out there, his range is like... weaker Qs or a set imo.

It really is player dependent though. Like, even basic vp/pfr/AF stats would change my decision.
