you rep an 8x or air. He still shoves in a spot where he can not have air. Fold.

e: didn't see he's a fish. Maybe still a fold because he might not jam worse 8x and can def have straight and boats

Why not cb this flop. You can get a lot calls from 9x,Tx and so + you can barrel any club ott.
Ap you need to win this >25%. But still his line looks super strong to me so fold looks like the best option.

If you cbet flops like this your checking range becomes very weak. Middle pair type hands are ideal for checks. Plus it's not like we're getting 3 streets anyway unimproved.

And getting checkraised here would suck, and you often will get checkraised because this flop hits villains range harder than ours.

You are hoping he has enough worse 8x vs value hands and at first glance I don't think he does.

Seems like an easy fold, he's not a big fish at all

line is too strong to be a bluff imo

If he has an 8, it's probably better than our 8. Q8, J8, 87 all have boats. 86 and lower is not in his range. So we're hoping for 98 or T8 to take this line if we call. In game I probably convince myself to call because of the odds, but away from the table it's a fold. This guy looks like he is more in want of seeing showdowns than wanting to bluff you off on the river.

Thanks for the replies, everyone!

Imo the more unconventional the line, the stronger an unknown opponents range probably is. Also, this is a spot where I think calling is only ok if villain is value raising too thin because I just don't expect them to be bluffing that often.
