Villain is 40/9/2.1 after 102 hands. Raising seems a bit gross and calling's probably going to put us in a bad spot on the turn/river given how drawy the board is. Folding against this guy seems weak/tight... what's the best option here?

peel one and see what he does on the turn. its a limped pot and we dont need to fall in love with our hand here.

just folding the flop is what id do as he could have straights, 2 pairs, etc or even better top pairs.

i check the flop here, he's never folding better or calling with worse, i'd rather raise it up pre than bet this flop.

as played you might still have the best hand, but you need to proceed with caution, your hand is obviously very vulnerable and there are a lot of turncards which could improve villain here, basically any overcard is bad (except the Q ldo), and villains limps on the button so he could literally have anything, i'll just fold it

This villain will definitely call with worse on the flop. Lots of gutshot hands, 6x, 4x and worse 8x.

he playes 40% of his hands, and he doesn't raise this button so we can asume he's not positionally aware, what 6x and 4x hands are in his range at this point?

villain calls with all sorts of worse hand on the flop; pair+gutshots, overcards etc

peel and hope he slows down imo, we are going to see a lot of scary turn cards though

IMO his stats are less important than whether you have seen him do this type of thing before. He limped on the btn, but bad players can do this with a big pair, because they "have a big pair" and they don't want the blinds to fold. If he limped with a big pair then he is usually going to try and c/r the flop.

I just fold this. Even if he is bluffing, your hand is going to be very hard to play oop unless a Q or 8 comes on the turn. Long term, occasionally getting bluffed out of small pots when you have a marginal hand is not terrible.
