but it's a huge leak of mine none the less. I never play these situations right. I always feel like people think I am just trying to steal their blinds, should I just fold the flop? Should I raise? If I call flop do I call turn? Dropped down to 25nl to work on several leaks and this is a huge one of mine. Thanks in advance.

This is a huge leak of mine too. I try and steal a lot and this happens like 50% of the time. So i would love to see a solid response for this.

Probably should of folded the flop unless you were planning to make a move on a later street imo, especially when you hit a draw like you did. Take note of how often he donks your steals and start raising them if it's frequently.

I'll take a stab at it, but I'm just a beginner.

I think you have to play the hand PF like you did, maybe raise more. I think that the SB is just putting you on two high cards and then assuming that you didn't catch the flop. Not really much you can do but fold in that situation. The one fear of the SB is that you have a high pocket pair so a reraise might push him off the pot. I think that you are in a fold/reraise situtation. If you look at pot odds on the flop you are getting 3 to 1, but you have 6 outs and all of them are scare cards for the SB so even if you do hit one you probably won't get paid off much, so your implied odds probably aren't much better.

If this is happening a lot try to play your high pocket pairs the same way to disguise when you have AK/KQ/AQ versus a high pair. Obviously if the SB makes the same move versus AA-JJ your going to get the pot. Dunno if this helped.

Your flop float is done (presumably) in the hopes that you will pick up outs on the turn. Now that you are getting >3:1 on your FD + overcards, I'd either call again or raise to 7 as a semibluff. Folding makes your flop call worthless; if you're not planning on at least calling a turn that gives you more outs, you shouldn't be calling on the flop imo.

I raise flop here. They fold often enough here to make it profitable.

Agreed...

Looks like you played it without any real idea of what the Villain held.

Did you have any kind of read on him? Looks like you could have been in better position on the turn then you were on the flop. If the villain is loose enough he could've called your pre-flop raise with A9 or something silly like that. Obviously JJ and 10-10 are posibilities here as well.

You could be facing a made flush or set on the turn, but if you float the flop, not continuing or even making a move on the turn is wasting your flop call.

yeah I agree that I should do something on the turn. I was surprised when he bet the turn though. I didn't think I could represent a flush here because I would probably be 3 betting a flush and overs on the flop (not that he knew that). Didn't really think about what I was doing on the flop, I just didn't really like getting donked into.

Thanks for the replies, I'll definitely take them into consideration next time.

<-- Just a Beginner

I Treat min/small bets like checks, I either fold or raise to atleast a PSB. It makes you look strong because you're raising, but you're not generally risking more than you would have with a standard CB had the opponent checked to you.
