Lets face it: most poker players are douchebags.

Nothing to see here, move along folks.

The chat more than anything else would tilt me. It's like those guys who say "ty" or "nh" etc. The hand itself happens once in a while, and I've been both the victim and beneficiary.

The 'talk' is a big tell in live games

If they starting go "well you bet preflop, check turn, now all of a sudden your strong, should I bet here hmmm, blah blah blah blah." etc

Means either
a) they're genuinely trying to work out what's going on
b) have the nuts

easy to tell when it's a) because they check/call or fold. if it's b) they go all-in

I always have chat disabled, it's just distracting

Dont worry, OP... let him keep doing that.

One day, his internet connection will hiccup, or someone will IM him at that moment and he'll lose focus, and that 3...2...1 will equal "mucked nuts".

and the poker gods will be pleased with the offering.

Since when is saying 'NH" an insult?

whenever someone asks "What's your kicker?" the kicker is 100% irrelevant (well, maybe 90%)

so true!

another thing, OP, start multitabling (or play more tables if you do already), you wont even notice such things anymore because there's always another decision coming up.

The most obvious answer is to play the literal next hand at that table over-aggressively, regardless of your holdings. If you win big, feel bitter still and click the cashier window. If you lose, close the table, punch something, and feel gross inside.

And if you win a small amount, just feel crappy and look for any other place on all your tables to play over-aggro.

Also if said person is ever in a hand again, make large -EV bluffs, but hope he has the small part of his range he will fold.
