this is my first hand on 2+2 and I hope to have some help understanding how I could have played the hand better. Should I have folded pre-flop? And what about the fold after the flop?

Thank you for your help.

I fold to the 4bet PF. Also, you might want to post fullring hands right here

Fold preflop.

Fold pf to the raise. A 4bet is almost always AA. You have to figure that someone 4betting is going to cbet anything on the flop except a pair of high cards. If you weren't prepared to call the flop bet on this board, it was spew to call pf.

Yep, fold pre. I'm only staying in with KK+ at that point. And I'll echo what venice said. You can't call pre if you aren't prepared to put more money when you flop an overpair. And you definitely aren't getting the implied odds to setmine anymore.

Nitpick: I raise to $1 at least with my UTG raises. Especially with a hand as vulnerable as JJ.

I disagree - I believe in always raising the same amount so you don't give away info about the strength of your hand

Then I would raise all your hands to 4xBB pre. Imagine this: You raise JJ pre to 3xBB, folds to MP3 who calls, then CO calls with KThh because of the good odds, and BTN calls with QJo because of the odds, and the blinds both call with 44 and 89ss respectively because of the good odds.

I know it's only a matter of 1BB, but IME people are much more likely to call a 3x raise than a 4x raise with ragged hands. You don't want to set off a chain of callers with a hand like JJ unless you are prepared to fold it postflop even after flopping an overpair.
