If you plan on calling the turn I think a better line is to lead and try charge is f draws. In this case i think the river is a fold, he cold put u on the f draw but more likely he will have the f draw and be bluffing u

on the turn you should lead for around 4.5-5.5 for value. Fold if he raises you. If he calls, you can fire the river using the king as a scare card or check/fold. I think check/calling the turn is horrible and you miss out on a ton of value against loose passive fish. As played river is fold

I like your check on the turn. I wouldn't lead, because I think it bloats the pot more than it gets value, which is pretty bad with 1 more street to play and being OOP. His turn bet is small enough that I don't hate calling. If he bet close to pot I would fold.

And no, it's probably not possible he put you on a flush draw on the river. I doubt this guy is putting anyone on anything. However, it is possible he's on a draw and decided to bluff the river. I would still fold though w/o any real reads or timing tells.

so how does this make it a fold?

I don't mind checking the turn even thought there's a fd out there. I think we can get more value from mid pairs etc by checking turn and betting river to make our line look more like air

the thing is villain's vpip is so high that smaller pocket pairs make up an incredibly small part of his range. Yeah if we check the turn we can try to get value on the river, but his range is waaayyy more than smaller pockets. If villain was a 18/16 type, then yeah its easy to put him on a pocket pair. We have to bet the turn to get value from the rest of his wide range, otherwise you lose value with JJ which is a strong hand on this board vs this villain.

Because the majority of his range is made up of hands that beat us, rather than the small proportion of f draws

yep ok, misread your first post. Thought you were saying that there are a lot of draws in villains range but i guess you were just pointing out that villain never puts us on a draw. mybad

I guess call is standard here w/o more reads. shoving wouldn't be bad either I think but folding seems clearly like the worst idea
