Hey

Up till now I mostly played MTTs, but I decided to take a shot at cash games for some time. So my cash game experience is really limited and I'm sorry if this is standard.
About 3rd hand at the table so no reads on villains. I thought about folding pf but then decided I'd limp and play it like a suited onegapper... I think raising the flop is ok cause I might get value from pairs 99-JJ and overpairs, maybe even a worse Q. After MP3 shoved I really didn't know what to do. I'm getting about 2:3 on the call. I thought AQ and KQ are unlikely cause he would've raised that pf. So the hands I'm really afraid of are 88 and QJ. He might also have a Q that I beat or maybe a medium pp( though that seems unlikely). So what do we do here readless?? Thanks

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (9 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

MP1 ($29)
MP2 ($21.55)
MP3 ($39.90)
CO ($13.95)
Hero ($25)
SB ($17.35)
BB ($14.50)
UTG ($25.05)
UTG+1 ($10.65)

Preflop: Hero is Button with T, Q.
4 folds, MP3 calls $0.25, CO calls $0.25, Hero calls $0.25, SB completes, BB raises to $0.5, MP3 calls $0.25, CO calls $0.25, Hero calls $0.25, SB calls $0.25.

Flop: ($2.75) 8, Q, Q (5 players)
SB checks, BB bets $1, MP3 calls $1, CO folds, Hero raises to $4, SB folds, BB folds, MP3 raises to $39.4, Hero?

Ps: Obv I could cancel the "top" in the title but I can't change it anymore...

KQ/QJ gets openlimped a lot @ 25NL..
Seemingly Passive player - Flop coldcall turns into 4bet overshove.. not promising.

What hands in villain's range are you beating @ SD?

Not a whole lot... I could see him limping with Q9s or even a worse Q, but readless I think that's not too likely. Q10's a split but really unlikely. But against a reasonable villain Q9s is about the only hand that he could have that I beat... Some awfully played KK or AA would be possible but really unlikely as well cause if he limped with one of these hands he would've at least reraised after BB's minraise I guess.

Welcome to why you don't play QT. Pf, I'd either raise or fold this. The only reasons to even think about playing this is that it is suited and you have the button. However, it needs to be played as representing a bigger hand than you have. Early in a session at a table, I'd fold it because I want to set up an image of being a tight player.

On the flop, I'd call instead of raising. Trips aren't sets. A raise identifies your hand as having a queen in it. As played, you'll have to let it go. Thank the villain for saving you some money (in your mind only) and note he isn't a good player. If he mini-reraised you to $8, he would have built the pot to $20.75 and left you with about $17 if you called. He should know it is tremendously difficult to fold getting 4:1 if you have trips. At that point you'd be pot committed and he could decide at his leisure how to get the rest of your stack in.
