Villain has been super agg with his restealing, especially vs me. He also Cbets a LOT. I call preflop, hoping to extract a cbet from him, then I planned to bluff-raise him, plus I can hit a set sometimes. Unfortunately he gives action on this super-dry board. I adopted a 'one-and-done' approach and quit after that.

what are you trying to get him to fold on the flop?

A high, K high, JJ-99.. I know I beat A high and K high, but I'm worried that if I flat I'll just get barrelled off my hand. Plus I dont want to give him a free card if he does have AK, AJ etc. I know my 77 have showdown value, but in this sort of spot I'm NEVER being allowed to get to showdown. Villain is either betting the turn, or checking the turn then betting big on the river. I'd say it goes check-check about 10% of the time. So I dont think I can showdown value my hand.

nobody really raises a queen or a set here so i wouldnt expect him to fold TT or JJ

Its a dry board and you got position...without history that villain is sticky in those spots with kinda marginal hands I dont see the point in raising a set...so I cant really raise other hands especially on a dry board like this...you just rep nothing....and its a little funny that you are even aware that its a super dry board....you just dont wanna be aggressive for the sake of being aggressive (mentioned that in another thread too)...the "art" is to apply the it to the right spots....

wouldn't fault you for 4b'ing pre, especially if you think he's 3b'ing tons of crap that actually has decent equity vs 77

agreed with not raising the flop

leave the table. This guy has position on you most of the time, and he's giving you fits the few times you have it on him.
