Could you criticise my line here, and then as played, do we call the river?

As played, call off I guess. But since you played the hand like a passive fish calling station, we have 0 clue where we stand.

I don't know why you're check/calling down. 5 3 7 rainbow seems like a pretty safe flop for aces. I'm not sure why you aren't betting out. Most of the time you'll probably take it down on the flop or turn, and if you face a big raise on the turn or something, it makes it much clearer that you're beaten.

It's actually not bad line at all. Good hand to XC down with. Don't need to know where we stand anyway. We should just XC down.

OP you have to call river.

That's a good point. I think I'm gunna try that next time I have aces on a dry flop. Just X/C to my death and hope a clown shows up with something I beat

I think it's a mistake of mine that I always want to know if I'm in the lead or not on a hand.

On the other hand, people seem to be a lot more willing to station down at least 2 streets of value with any piece than they are to bet themselves, so it's 6 of one, half dozen of the other :P

Against many players it would be good to take the c/c line at least sometimes.
I probably will fire all 3 streets with air with way too high a frequency on a board like this.
So will many other aggrotards.
Also I will at least sometimes valuebet reasonably thin.

But in my experience an unknown is not that likely to start bluffing and will not valuebet even QQ-KK 3 streets. But they will often call you down with any pair.
So as a default line I prefer bet bet shove.
