on face value it looks like a fairly standard value shove. i can't really see 5x being in villain's range at all. even 55 should be folding flop.

which is where reads help.

sorry guys, i didnt want to post it as i was just preparing it with the converter for a session review :-) otherwise i would have included stats and a proper title of course.


villain is 80/4 and i dont have any other reads on him. I cant really give villain any range here, he might be on a FD an OESD, any kind of garbage pair (A8 / A7 / 98), also cant see the 5 in his range (alltough, he’s not a thinking player).

he might fold a missed FD to a bet, so i check to induce a bet (either bluff or thinking he is good with anykind of A8). there is no reall question here against a 80/4, or?

i guess river check is alright as long as we are going to be snapping off any bet. i would still prefer a straight-up shove. an 80/4 has essentially ATC in his range here.

looks like a busted FD attempt at last chance value. I would think flopped two pair from villain would have raised to price out any FD's he thought you may have.

From way hand is played, shove after his bet to get last remaining value from villain.

Standard value shove against a station imo. I doubt he has a 5 here, hearts or just a pair is far more likely

You are stacking off if they bet so the only hands you save mony against are the hands that have you beat but would check behind and that is only a very small portion of his range. He has all sorts of single pairs in his range that are calling. Shove river for value.
