Had some history with this guy 3betting me.. he was a decent 21-17 reg but with 3bet around 8-10. Giving History i decided to 4bet and make a stand.
I see that the sizing is off but how do you guys like this play?? Flop was not that great but decided to make a cbet. After his call I was pretty sure he had some kind of pair maybe TT, JJ. Thought with this turn i coukld pick up this pot many times.. does is sound somewhat reasonable??

Depends on if he was positionally aware when he was 3betting.

Once he calls the 4bet OOP his range probably crushes you.

I hate this. Do you really think he is going to 3b an mp open light? I think his 3b range has you crushed, even as a 8% 3bettor. I wouldn't mind this if you were on the co/btn, much more so on the btn, but yea. I would just fold to the 3b.

I'd probably c/r flop too once we have decided to 4b pre. Your bet sizing pre has kinda mucked things up for us a bit though being 200bb deep. I'd like to check/shove flop but our 4b sizing makes that quite difficult. If he checks back I think he's quite likely to fold turn or a river shove w/ AK or something

I agree. What made me do this was he 3betted me like 3/4 times in couple of minutes.. Don't say that it makes it a good play !!

When someone is 3betting you more than his fair share you have basically three options:
1- Leave the table, specially if he´s one/two to your left (best option at microstakes imo)
2- Tighten up your opening range and widen up your 4bet value range (2nd best at uNL)
3- Play back by 4betting light (Maybe not optimal at micros but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do...). Now, you picked up a bad hand to 4bet. You were IP, flatting is a better option with this hand. When 4betting, it´s better to do it with a polarized range rather than a depolarized. If he flats your 4bet OOP just take a note b/c that´s a bad play (even IP 100bb deep) and his range is basically a good hand that he doesn´t feel comfortable, like medium PPs like 99-JJ or something like AQ.
Btw, don´t minraiase, you give him insanely good odds. There´s no need to make it full pot either. Something around a little less than 3x his 3bet should do the job fine

1) You're MP
2) He knows he's been 3betting a lot

He probably has a hand.

Good advice. I would only add

4- Leave your ego at the door. "He's 3 betting me a lot and it ticks me off, I'll show him" is a sure fire recipe for losing a few buy ins.

Not necessarily. The small 4b widens up his range quite a bit. I don't mind the second barrel. You're deep, so your turn bet puts a lot of pressure on him.

Smallish 4 bets are pretty standard. They get more money in when you have a hand, but don't pot commit you when you don't.

Why are we barrelling postflop? It's not like he's on the straight draw unless we're already behind to 99, and our equity is really not great vs. his range to call the 4bet. Not many ways for him to have neither an A nor a pocket, and when he doesn't, he almost certainly has a Q (KQ or QJ). He's never folding flop and I can't see him folding better hands on turn very often either.

You have position so you can flat 3bet here. No need to get all John Wayne pf. Switch to a more flop dependant game and be prepared to call down when you hit and he barrels at you.
There are times against very aggro opponents when you just don't get the cards you need. Don't force it.

You're trying to rep big pair so you might as barrel turn and shove river. He'll post the same hand here having everyone telling him to fold KK.
