i would almost always 3bet this pf against a 50bb stack

as played, shove turn and hope he calls with 88, 77 etc or a flushdraw.

bet/fold here IMO. I bet 3/4 pot, fold to a raise and fire again at a non-spade/non-straight river if called.

Played well up to this point, though I may raise flop to $4 or $4.50 with two to play behind me, really charge those draws and weak pairs to see the turn.

Hi empyrium;
I have some questions about that...

* If he has Top Pair--which is now trips--should I bet it for him?
* If he does have 88 or 77 (two outers), wouldn't it be preferable to better entice him to call with a bet equal to or less than the pot?
* If he has a flush draw, I need to just about put him all-in to protect. The pot is $10.50, SB has $8.25 left and I have him covered. If I bet 7.50 he'd be getting 18:7.5 =~ 2.5:1 with a tiny bit behind so he shouldn't call or he's making a mistake if he does.

But how do you reconcile protecting against a flush draw vs the chance he has trips?

he has less than one PSB left in his stack, if he has trips you have to pay him off. Just in case he's on a draw I'd probably put him all in on the turn so he can't check fold the river with missed draws that you beat
