I was looking for a save flop for my JJ and shoved after his CB. I have no reads/stats about this player. How would you play this hand?

I wouldn't flat this 3b with JJ if I couldn't play this flop confidently against villain

I could fold pre, jam the flop or flat the flop depending on villain(and it would be very villain dependent).

Given pre flop developments, I'd probably just jam this for protection/value vs an unknown- flatting will put you in too many gay turn spots with no idea of his 3 betting range/cbetting and barelling frequencies/any other tendencies. Besides, people b/c 77-99/draws more than you'd expect here. He can also have Tx some % of the time as well.

normally id just say flat, youll just get valuetowned when he has QQ-AA or a set if you shove, but his cbet size is hugeeeee and id probably take the same line here cause of it.

this shove is for value? meh maybe against an unknown but if you have any read that player is tightish this is pretty bad IMO. unless you have some spazy image or something.

What is this guy´s 3betting range?
If we don´t know this, this is burning money.

I fold pre.

The thinking is that around half the time there will be a Q/K/A flopped and we will cf/bf.

The other times we are shipping 20 dollars into 8, knowing we could be crushed. We may be a bit ahead, but it is unlikely we are very far ahead.

Villains pf raise size looks alot like AK to me, so I take your line post flop - I just feel with hindsight, folding pre is alot better.

what about his preflop line makes you think his most likely holding is AK?

You really need some kind of a read to play jj here. 4 bet shoving is probably the worst thing to do. As played, fold the flop. The best scenario is villain holding 77-99. I don't think Tx is even a possibility unless villain has no sense of hand strength. Most of the hands he would probably shove have you crushed. One over and a flush draw are almost even money.

i would have to agree with other posters. i used to flat stuff like KK, QQ, JJ when i was playing 25NL to try and get tricky but i quickly learned that im just loosing value by flatting PF. I would now be shipping that alll day PF. Itd be different if he flatted your 3bet and u c/jammed or something(obviously).
