Poker Stars $22+$1 No Limit Hold'em Tournament - t10/t20 Blinds - 2 players - View hand 275484
The Official DeucesCracked.com Hand History Converter

Hero (BTN/SB): t1500 M = 50
BB: t1500 M = 50

Pre Flop: (t30) Hero is BTN/SB with 4 K
Hero raises to t60, BB calls t40

Flop: (t120) 4 3 6 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero checks

Turn: (t120) 9 (2 players)
BB bets t60, Hero calls t60

River: (t240) K (2 players)
BB bets t80, Hero raises to t240, BB folds

Is betting flop, shutting down a better option? Turn lead could be betting some type of draw? However if I don't improve on the river is there even a justifiable call or just letting yourself get value-towned? Using this reasoning if the rivers a fold if we don't improve, then is the turn a fold then vs (better, higher buy in) villians that will bet this river?

Do most player have enough 5x, and weaker 4x in their calling ranges to make this a bet on the flop?

You got some showdown value in your pair of fours but on the other hand you also gotta protect your hand against the straight draw and the very likely possibility that vilian is holding to over cards. As played i dont like the turn call as I think it hits vilians range spot on.

Bet flop like 85ish and fold to action
If he calls he might check turn and you get a free river card to catch your lovely king

Yes. Definitely. Wouldn't be surprised to see random overcard hands or 7x hands either.

I like betting this flop as there are many bad turns for our hand and we can certainly get value from 5x, 78 and random floats. Then you can comfortably bet-fold this turn as players rarely c/c flop and c/r turns like this light. If you decide to check back this turn you have to call most rivers because a lot of his range is not going to include hands that can value bet this river so his range is very polorized to busted draws/air and monsters.

I don't see how the 9 hits his range spot on.

But I am agreeing with the bet/bet/check. Aside from not betting the flop, well-played in my opinion.
