Villain is playing really weird running stats 31/9/3.7
I seen him make some pretty weird moves postflop, but never saw anything weird pre. He has a tighter pfr than me, so I thought I was beat.
Is this a laydown or a push? I'm running bad today, so that may have clouded my judgement.

seems like a harmless flop. easy for some one to bluff with AQ or AK, or he could have paired A8s if he was a weak player. If he has a set I doubt he would make that big of an overbet, beacuse it is such a harmless board a set is the nuts and I doubt he would have just forced a fold on you. if he has an overpair thats unlucky imo. I would have called there, but I suck.

IMO a call there is not that bad, just seems like a weird play.

I 3bet here all day on the button with JJ. If he 4bets we know we're almost always beat, and if he flats you can narrow his range to AK,AQ, TT, 99. Without 3betting he has such a wide range here (trips, overpairs that beat you), I would have to fold this without any solid reads.

How many hands are his stats over? PFR of 9 leads me to believe he's not raising from UTG+1 with 22 or 44 that often (especially if we assume he's raising significantly more often from the button/CO).

Still, I feel a lot of bluffs are giving up to your raise, and 99/TT might not jam that often. So... your hand might be a bluff catcher here. Also, unfortunately, since the raise is bigger than pot you have to be right fairly often. I think I would fold and make a note. Tough spot.
