This hand probably looks kinda stupid but I was experimenting a little bit and I tried to balance my nutheavy ranges in a few spots. One of these spots is the following one.

Full Tilt Poker $200.00 No Limit Hold'em - 2 players
The Official 2+2 Hand Converter Powered By DeucesCracked.com

Hero (BB): $222.00
BTN/SB: $200.00

Pre Flop: ($3.00) Hero is BB with T K
BTN/SB raises to $6, Hero calls $4

Flop: ($12.00) 4 2 8 (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN/SB bets $8.00, Hero calls $8

Turn: ($28.00) 8 (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN/SB bets $21.00, Hero raises to $62

villain was a regular opening quite a lot and cbetting a ton. i don't do this often but i was trying to rep an 8x and here on the flop and take the pot down later... probably wasn't a really good idea but i wanted to mix it up a little bit and usually showed down some decent hands after c/c the flop.

IF i play the flop like I did, turn should be fine amirite? IMO the line is pretty credible representing trips and sometimes i will just flat the flop with sets too...

And in general: Do you float OOP here and there? I figured that Axx rainbow boards are quite good to float OOP because many ppl cbet them often 100% and if we c/c the flop he often thinks "ok he has Ax" and shuts down and i can take the pot down on the river. And if my occasional bluff gets called I can probably get called lighter by my Ax hands on the river after c/c-ing on the flop.

Firstly nothing wrong with trying to make plays like this against regs whoa re used to folding to turn check raises but....

Unless you had been defending a ton OOP and check calling lots of flops a competent villain will not be barreling this turn to often. You do indeed rep an 8 very well but you repped an 8 welll on the flop and villain bet turn so i would rather pick a different spot. Much rather check raise a q v a villain who barrels a lot.

this looks fine. Pretty good board for villian to double barrel. I'm shuting down on the river if he calls.

About the float OOP part: Isn't c/r'ing here a lot better? So often when I try it, the turn gets checked down and I stab at river and they call with weak showdown hands or I just end up folding to double barrels. As you said above, the A/x/x boards are a lot better to float.

Where at least with c/r'ing your puting him to a decision and you can get paid off if you do hit a turn against his 8/x hands. Probably not the best explaination of why c/r'ing is better, would be interested to hear other people's views on it.

depends on how much you are defending and calling cbets. Also important is how much he is 2barreling. If you are defending light and floating a lot, it is a good play. If the situation is turned around, it is a questionable move. But like to hear others about it.
